SIGIR 2023 was my first A* conference experience. Being a master’s student, it was really helpful for me to know the people working in my field. I made amazing connections there and understood the importance of pursuing a PhD degree. The conference had people from around the globe working on different areas of Information retrieval and recommendation systems. There were amazing tutorials and keynotes to learn from. I got the chance to present my work as a poster to the world. Taipei City is also really beautiful with its scenic views and has one of the tallest buildings in the world – Taipei 101. I enjoyed my time at the SIGIR and would love to attend many more conferences like these.
