Call for Applications: ACM-W Treasurer

We are looking for an organized, responsible, and collaborative volunteer who can provide financial leadership and help ensure that ACM-W’s resources are managed transparently, effectively, and in alignment with its mission and priorities.
This is a volunteer, remote, part-time ACM-W Executive leadership role. The position requires an expected commitment of approximately 10 hours per month, together with attendance at virtual meetings. The appointment will be for a 2-year term, beginning on September 1st 2026.
About ACM-W
ACM-W is ACM’s Women in Computing community. Its mission is to support, celebrate, and advocate for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field.
ACM-W provides programs, activities, and services to members worldwide and works with the broader computing community to advance women’s contributions to computing.
About the Treasurer role
The ACM-W Treasurer provides financial leadership and oversight for ACM-W’s activities, programs, committees, and regional initiatives.
Working closely with the ACM-W Chair, Executive Committee, committee leaders, regional leaders, and relevant ACM staff, the Treasurer helps ensure that financial resources are responsibly planned, allocated, monitored, and reported.
The Treasurer is expected to support clear and transparent financial decision-making across ACM-W and to help leadership align available resources with the organization’s strategic priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
We welcome applications from ACM-W community members who demonstrate:
- Experience managing budgets, organizational funds, grants, projects, or other financial resources.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or presenting financial reports.
- Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to audiences with different levels of financial experience.
- Sound judgment, integrity, accountability, and respect for confidentiality.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers, committees, regional leaders, and professional staff.
- Commitment to ACM-W’s mission and to inclusive, equitable, and transparent decision-making.
Experience working with a nonprofit, professional association, academic institution, research project, conference, community organization, or volunteer-led initiative would be particularly valuable.
Applicants do not necessarily need to be professional accountants. However, they should be comfortable working with budgets, financial records, reports, and organizational policies.
Recognition and support
The Treasurer will be recognized as a member of ACM-W Executive leadership. Their name, photograph, and contact information will be included on the ACM-W website, and they will receive an ACM-W Leadership badge for use in email signatures and on social media profiles.
Travel expenses for required in-person meetings will be reimbursed in accordance with ACM-W and ACM policies.
