Maria Lydia Fioravanti

In April 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the 46th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) in Lisbon, Portugal. This wasn’t the first time I attended a conference, but it was the first time I was able to participate without worrying about paper presentations, which always make me apprehensive.

Throughout the conference, I had several interesting conversations with fellow researchers about their work as well as my own. I was very excited to see the research topics I am interested in already being explored and considered relevant by the Software Engineering community. Fellow presentations presentations also left me inspired and motivated me to dig deeper into areas I am yet to explore.

All in all, my ICSE experience was a success. It allowed me to connect with other researchers and potential collaborators which will definitely help me in my next research projects. I am very grateful for ACM-W and SIGSOFT for providing me this amazing and valuable opportunity.
