Attending AAAI-18 was an incredible opportunity. I was able to present my research, and the paper I had co-authored with Professor Naumov, in front of academics that were interested in similar fields as us and get their views on our work. Being able to present the result of my hard work and research was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. It made me feel accomplished and so happy to be able to talk in front of a crowd about something I have become so passionate about in the past year. It solidified my opinion that I want to continue conducting research with Professor Naumov and that I may further pursue theoretical research once I am done with college. Furthermore, being able to attend the conference and listen to a variety of different presentations, often covering very different aspect of A.I. research was such an eye- opening experience. I was able to listen to talks from very different sections and while I didn’t always understand everything being discussed, as I had expected being an undergraduate student, it gave me insight to what I could expect to learn in the future and it made me so excited for what’s to come. I realized there are so many aspects of computer science, and especially surrounding the research on Artificial Intelligence, that I could learn more about and branch into in the future. It made me so sure of the fact that this is the field for me and that I really am excited for graduate school and to learn more.
