Attended DIS 2014
2014, Vancouver, Canada
As a first year PhD student it was a truly valuable experience to participate in the DIS2014 conference and to present my position paper in the workshop about Crafting user experience of self-service technologies: Key challenges and potential solutions that was organised by Prof Victor Kaptelinin. The feedback that I received from the more experienced colleagues in the workshop was truly inspiring. It was especially interesting to talk about my research topic with people who have been facing similar issues in the industry for decades already. On the other hand the workshop participants with academic background shared valuable insights about different methodological approaches that could be relevant to my research activities.
The whole conference was immensely encouraging and inspiring and I definitely plan to use the acquired knowledge by supervising and teaching bachelor and master level students during the next years as well as working on my research topic. I am truly grateful to ACM-W for making this possible.
