Attended 45th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2023)
2022, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
I am really grateful for the ACM-W Scholarship award, I was able to attend the 45th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2023). Participating in the ICSE was my first in-person international conference, so it was a really important experience for me. I feel encouraged and energized to continue my work.
Talking about the conference, ICSE 2023 was full of activities. It was really exciting to be able to participate in the conference, meet researchers and software engineering professionals and hear about new and innovative research in our area. I learned a lot from attending the paper, posters, and mentoring sessions. I got to attend the Student Mentoring Workshop, where I met my mentor Zadia Codabux from the University of Saskatchewan, experts in the field of Empirical Software Engineering, Technical Debt and Data Mining Security.
In addition, I met researchers whose work I read during my master’s and Ph.D. and I was able to meet other students interested in software engineering and learn from their experiences. It was a great way for me to connect with relevant researchers in my field around the world. Furthermore, I want to bring some of these ideas and perspectives into my own work and future postdoc. While there are many important innovations presented at the conference, there is still much more work to be done.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to ACM-W for providing me with this invaluable opportunity. Thanks to their support, I had the privilege of engaging in knowledge exchange and cultural interactions with fellow researchers from various corners of the globe, thereby enhancing my networking capabilities. The experience was truly unforgettable, and I eagerly anticipate engaging in further enriching learning experiences in the future.
