The Dagstuhl seminars are widely known in computer science and I’m very grateful for having had the opportunity to participate — it was one of the most inspiring academic events I’ve ever attended. The quality of the talks was extremely high and the presentation schedule sparse enough to allow for plenty of informal interaction among the participants. The fact that the group was relatively small (approx 50) also made it much easier to get to know people compared to conferences. Towards the end of the visit I had a particularly useful conversation with a senior researcher about my research direction, and now I’m working on implementing the advice that he gave me.
