New ACM-W Chapters in Q2-Q3 2025
by Asegul ‘Ace’ Hulus
We are happy to announce the creation of 24 ACM-W chapters across the globe during the second and third quarters of 2025, marking a milestone in our mission to support and celebrate women in computing. The growth includes 11 professional chapters and 13 student chapters, across as many institutions all over the world, joined in their aim to support women in computing.
New Professional Chapters
Our professional chapter network has grown with the addition of 11 chapters spanning multiple continents. These new professional chapters represent the global reach of ACM-W’s mission:

We’re growing our presence in established tech hotspots like NYC and Toronto, as well as in emerging up-and-coming cities like Dubai, Lahore, and other major cities, while expanding our international reach in South Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
As reported by the professional chapters team:
“As part of ACM-W, our chapters are committed to empowering, educating, and inspiring women across all stages of their professional and career journeys. Through mentorship, cutting-edge workshops, speaker events, innovation showcases, and community outreach, we aim to bridge gaps between academia, industry, and government while advancing diversity and inclusion in the technology sector.”
New Student Chapters
We’ve also seen considerable growth in our student chapter network, adding 13 new chapters across diverse locations such as Bulgaria, Malaysia, Brazil, and Japan. These chapters are key to empowering the next generation of women in the field of computing:

These chapters feature a variety of research universities, technical institutes, and specialized colleges, creating supportive communities for women studying computer science and related fields all over the world. The student chapters organise local events, encourage discussion, offer useful mentoring, and create spaces where members can share their experiences, enabling them to grow both academically and professionally.
Looking Forward
Through these 24 new chapters, hundreds of women will be able to benefit from ACM-W’s resources, networking events, and community backing. Each chapter is a new opportunity to celebrate local expertise and culture, strengthening our global network and advancing our collective mission of supporting, celebrating, and advocating for women in computing.
We congratulate all the dedicated volunteers, faculty advisors, and institutional supporters who made these chapter formations possible. Their commitment to fostering inclusive computing communities will undoubtedly inspire and empower countless women in computing.
Welcome to the ACM-W family! We look forward to seeing the innovative programs, impactful initiatives, and meaningful connections emerging from these vibrant new communities.
