People, Paths, and Possibilities
ACM-W’s community is made up of people who care about advancing computing in an equitable and inclusive way. Here, we welcome the students finding their footing, the volunteers generously giving their precious time, the scholars opening doors, and the mentors who remember what it felt like to need one.
Here, we celebrate the many ways people arrive in computing, the journeys that unfold once they do, and the web of relationships that keeps this field alive and growing.
Dive into our special projects to get to know our community better.
Above and Beyond
Since 2006, ACM-W Scholarships have helped women attend the conferences where ideas spark and careers take shape. But what happens next? Above and Beyond follows that thread, tracing how a single moment of support can ripple forward through an education, a career, a field. These are stories of what’s possible when we invest in each other.

U-RISE
There is no single path into computing, and U-RISE exists to prove it!
U-RISE (Unconventional Routes into Computing: Re-Imagining Skills and Entry) features women whose journeys defy the standard script: the career-changers, the late arrivals, the ones who were told this wasn’t for them and came anyway. Their stories aren’t exceptions; they’re invitations for you to own this space, too. Come as you are. You belong here.

Voices of ACM-W
Behind every piece of work that tries to shift the needle for others, there is a volunteer, generous with their time and care. Voices of ACM-W is where we hear their stories.
This global conversation series brings together women from across regions, career stages, and cultures to talk honestly about computing: their journey into computing and volunteering, the turning points and the detours, the communities that held them and the ones they built themselves, the work for equitable futures that rarely makes it onto a résumé. Together, these voices tell us what it feels like to belong to this field, and to help others belong too.
