Attended The ACM Joint European Software Engineering Conference and Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering (ESEC/FSE) 2023
2023, San Francisco, California, United States
This December, I had the chance to attend ESEC/FSE 2023 in San Francisco, California, US. Not only did I attend different talks and sessions, but also, I had the privilege of presenting my research work at the Student Research Competition (SRC).
The first-round of the SRC was a poster session. This was my first-ever experience presenting a poster, and I liked it. People came to me and asked me questions about my work. I had several interesting comments. I found the poster format much more interactive than the presentation format.
When the first-round results were out, I was happy to move to the second round. On the next day, I did a ten-minute presentation in front of a jury. During that session, I also had the opportunity to discuss my work and receive suggestions from experienced researchers. I was thrilled to be ranked 3rd in the Graduate Division and receive the bronze award.
During the conference, I also served as a Student Volunteer (SV) which allowed me not only to help in the conference organization but also to easily interact and meet fellow student volunteers. Besides, during the coffee breaks and the lunches, I was able to network, meet other researchers and interact with the community.
All in all, my ESEC/FSE experience was a success. I am very grateful for ACM and Google for the opportunity.
