Participating in the NetSciX 2023 conference in Argentina was a great way for me to connect with relevant researchers in my field in Latin America. Since I developed a framework to transform mixed data inputs (both quantitatively and qualitatively) for creating an Agent Based Model, it is important to get as much feedback and input from the potential users as possible. For this reason, I was fortunate enough to present my work in the form of a poster at NetSciX. Not only were there many interested researchers in my field (criminal computation) present and able to give me valuable feedback, some participants were even interested in creating collaborations in which they would be using the framework. This would not have been possible without the support of the ACM-W scholarship. Additionally, I was able to showcase the framework and other projects of my PhD in the context of a visualization competition that was held at the conference. Overall, travelling to such an interesting country as Argentina and receiving not only input through feedback on my own work but also inspiration by learning about other researchers’ work was crucial for my PhD at this stage.
