This June, I had the opportunity to present original research at the 19th International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM 2025) in Copenhagen. At the conference, I learned about the rich ways computational social scientists are able to analyze web data and improve our understanding of how communities online interact. Many researchers also discussed ethical considerations necessary for developing AI frameworks and tangible methods to mitigate bias and other fairness concerns. I joined Emory’s Digital Humanities Lab as a sophmore in college and was eager to deliver the culmination of my work. I am grateful for the ACM-W’s generous support in enabling this international travel.
