Dr. Rachelle Kristof Hippler is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH where she is the program director for the Software Engineering program. She began her teaching career in 1990 as a mathematics instructor for the Cleveland Heights and Sylvania school districts. After earning her M.S. in Computer Science with a Specialization in Software Engineering, she worked for Ernst & Young LLP as a IT Management Consultant. Missing teaching, she taught as an adjunct at Bowling Green State University on the Firelands campus and soon thereafter made a full-time career switch to academia and became the coordinator for BGSU’s 2+2 computer science program. In 2017, she earned in her doctorate in Leadership Studies with an emphasis on retaining women in computing and accepted her current position at Baldwin Wallace University. Besides numerous teaching and administrative responsibilities throughout the years, she has been actively involved with the Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing since its inception in 2005 and currently serves on the OCWIC Executive Board. She has served the ACM-W council as the Celebrations Survey Coordinator since 2009 and was appointed to the council in 2017 to launch the ACM-W Professional Chapters project.
