Wendy Powley is a Lecturer in the School of Computing and the Faculty of Education at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario Canada. She teaches first year introductory programming courses in Python and Processing, Web Development, Databases and Computer Ethics. She also teaches the Computer Science Curriculum course for pre-service secondary school teachers. She is interested in Computer Science Education issues such as the promotion of CS in K-12 streams as well as teaching strategies to encourage more females to study CS. She is the founder of the Ontario Celebration of Women in Computing (2010-2015) and currently heads the Steering Committee for the Canadian Celebration of Women in Computing (CAN-CWiC). She is currently serving as the Chair of the ACM-W Celebrations Committee. |
