Computing for All, an ACM-W Celebration

The third edition of Informatics for All celebrations was celebrated in April 2018. It was held in La Nave, Madrid, and this year it was a two-day event.

On the first day of the event, there was a career fair and a workshop about quality, diversity and expectations of current employment in the IT sector. On the second day of the celebration, there were five talks from female experts in different areas of expertise, including a live stream from one of our speakers who has been working in San Francisco over the last years. In addition, a panel discussion was held and a networking session to debate about the role of women in computing, difficulties and potential solutions. Later in the afternoon, there was a poster session with presentations and posters from universities from all around Spain.

Overall, it was a lovely day with very positive feelings, fruitful discussions, and plenty of time for networking and celebrating. The success of this event provided even more energy to keep growing this community, and the fourth edition of this wonderful celebration is already being planned.
