Suzanne Menzel
Suzanne Menzel has co-authored a number of articles on diversity and women in computing, specifically: Leveling the CS1 Playing Field; Propagating Diversity Through Active Dissemination; Three Perspectives on Peer Tutoring for CS1; Just Be: Breaking the Geek Myth; The Under-representation of Women in IU Computer Science Undergraduate Degree Program; and Java Engagement for Teaching Training: An Experience Report. She received the Computer Science Department Teaching Award in 2006 and 2004, and the Trustees Teaching Award for Lecturers in 2006. Suzanne was nominated for the Student Choice Award for Outstanding Faculty in 2006, 2005, and 1998. She is on the Executive Committee of the IU Women in Informatics and Computing Committee, the Just Be Faculty Advisor – Just Be is an interactive experience created by the Women in Computing group at IU. In addition, Suzanne is the Faculty Advisor for Bring IT On, a three-day workshop hosted by the School of Informatics at Indiana University for undergraduate computer science students from Indiana universities.
