Barbara Boucher Owens
Barbara Boucher Owens earned her Ph.D. in Computer Applications to Education from New York University, her MA in Experimental Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and her BA in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University. She is Associate Professor of Computer Science at Southwestern University. Her professional interests include Computer Science Curriculum Development, Programming Languages, Software Engineering, Small College Computing Issues, and Underrepresented Groups issues. Barbara is a member of ACM and SIGCSE, ACM's Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education. She is Co-Founder and Steering Committee Member of the Consortium for Computing in Small Colleges: South Centeral Conference. She has published many articles on computer science education and literacy, and is a recipient of the Computing Research Association's Grant for Collaborative Research Experience for Women in Undergraduate Computer Science and Engineering (CREW) , 2001-2002.
