Wendy Powley is a Research Associate and Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Computing and the Faculty of Education at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario Canada. Her research interests include Autonomic Computing specifically its use for Database Workload Management and Systems Management and Computer Science Education issues such as the promotion of CS in K-12 streams as well as teaching strategies to encourage more females to study CS. She was the founder of the Ontario Celebration of Women in Computing (ONCWIC which ran annually from 2010-2015) and currently heads the Steering Committee for the Canadian Celebration of Women in Computing 2015 (CAN-CWiC). She is an IBM Faculty Fellow (since 2006) and an IARIA Fellow (from 2012). She has served on numerous conference program committees and reviewed paper, poster and workshop submissions for a variety of conferences and journals. Currently she is serving as the Chair of the ACM-W Celebrations Committee.
